A Philosophy of Sorts
Keep in mind the following concepts:
1. PLACE Make sure that place is central to all activity - get to know place.
2. FORAGE Use what’s around us and seasonally available.
3. MEDIUM The tools we use impact the message we are conveying. Avoid distraction by focusing directly on, and interacting directly with, the subject itself as much as possible.
4. TERROIR Highlight the qualities and activities that are unique to a place.
5. GROWTH Update, question, grow, and adapt - all knowledge is provisional.
6. CONTEXT Be aware of one’s own unique situation and how that differs from person to person.
7. INCLUSIVITY Consider all human variations, and plan as much as possible for that.
8. UNITY Encourage the growth of a culture focused on consilience and concrescence.
9. PRAXIS When in doubt, go outside and explore, learn, and experiment – you will never be gaining useless information when engaging directly with one’s environment.
10. EXPERIENCE We are what we experience – understand its impact.
